What began as a small family business has evolved into one of the leading guitar manufacturers in the world. The company opened its doors while guitar playing was gaining popularity in Japan during the early 60's. As business grew, the owners saw the need to develop their skills and attract design and manufacturing talent. One of the most important additions to the company was Mass Hirade, who joined Takamine in 1968 and made killer improvements to the design and build quality. The EF381SC is in the company's Keystone Series and is a stunning example of Takamine's obsession with building the best guitars that still come with reasonable price tags. For superior tone, it features a solid spruce top and the time-tested formula of maple back and sides with a solid mahogany neck.
